New Wedding Project in the Works!

We're excited to be preparing for an upcoming bridal expo hosted by our friends at Bride Bop, called Bride Bop's Big Day! We're going to have a booth and showcase some of our wedding-themed designs.  Be sure to stop by and say hello! It's going to be a great event, with a celebrity wedding panel, high class catering and cocktails and a bridal gown boutique by JLM Couture. We can't wait! Fleur de CD Unveiled at RuckusRoots TRASHion Show!

We had a blast at the RuckusRoots TRASHion Show on June 16th. The event was a fundraiser for sustainable arts education, and included a fashion show of garments made entirely out of recycled items. We were thrilled to be asked to participate, and enjoyed the challenge of making a piece of wearable art entirely out of recycled paper. Paper Botanicals designer Susan Spehar used a collection of old CD cases left over from her children's adolescent years to build an intricate, wearable ode to rock n' roll, which she called Fleur de CD. The body of the dress was constructed using mainly the CD inserts, while the shoulder adornments and back "cape" was created with recycled white paper flowers Paper Botanicals had built for a wedding last year. Susan's daughter Stephanie modeled the dress, and both mother and daughter got to walk down the aisle together. What a special night! We're thrilled that our designs are up at one of LA's hottest new home decor stores, Erinn V Maison. Here are a couple photos from the grand opening event. (Oh, and rumor has it that Jaime Pressly loved our wall hanging!) :)

We're so excited for the launch of Erinn V Maison, a new furniture and home decor store founded by our dear friend and fabulous designer Erinn Valencich. A new line of Paper Botanicals' paper flower creations will be displayed and sold in the store, including wall hangings, single stems, holiday decor and more! Thanks to Tic-Tock and WIPA for a Stunning Event!

Wow! We're so pleased to have been a part of the WIPA luncheon yesterday, which was held at the gorgeous Vibiana downtown. Hundreds of wedding professionals gathered to talk about the biz, and--lucky them--they got to sit at tables designed by two of LA's best flower artists: Tic-Tock Couture Florals and My Flower Guy. Paper Botanicals collaborated with Tic-Tock to make a show-stopping, romantic and modern centerpiece that blended both real and paper flowers!  We also provided handmade magnolia-inspired napkin rings, made with exquisite detailing, if we do say so ourselves. Paper Botanicals and Tamrish Event Design Team Up for Weekend Wedding Expo!

 

We've been working hard all week to create some beautiful designs, not only for the WIPA event on Tuesday, but also for a wedding show to be held at the Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena on Sunday, March 6th. For this event we've teamed up with Tamrish Event Design to create some beautiful paper flower seating adornments as well as a centerpiece arrangement. The event runs from 11am--3pm, come visit us! It was a spectacular event, with everything a bride could dream of to make her wedding day perfect--and more mini cupcakes than one person should ever consume.
